St. Joachim Is My Hero

Hello! My name is Joachim and as you can tell, St. Joachim is my hero. Obviously I was named after him, but who is he? Well, he is the grandfather of Jesus! His daughter was Mary, who became the Mother of Jesus. Pretty sweet, huh? I thought so too. Thanks for viewing my blog. I hope you like it. And it saves me from using up all my Mom's cell phone minutes trying to keep in touch with all my family and friends. Love you!

Happy Feast of St. Joachim!

Today is the Feast Day of St. Joachim & St. Anne! We'd like to blog a special tribute to our firstborn's namesake.

God of our fathers,
you gave Saints Joachim and Anne
the privilege of being the parents of Mary,
the mother of your incarnate Son.
May their prayers help us to attain
the salvation you have promised to your people.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

This is an awesome picture of the meeting of St. Joachim & St. Anne. Sweet love. From www.uab.edu.

We love this classic icon of the saints with their daughter, the Blessed Virgin Mary. From www.churchofsaintann.net.

A great representation of St. Joachim and St. Anne with Mary and the Child Jesus. What a great family gathering! (But where's St. Joseph?) This is also considered the feast day for grandparents since Anne and Joachim were Jesus' grandparents. So Happy Feast Day to all our Gma's and Gpa's!! From www.wf-f.org.

Our sweet Joachim. This may be a car he's holding now, but could he also be practicing a posture for holding our Precious Lord or offering a priestly blessing?

St. Joachim & St. Anne, pray for us!

Happy day to you all. May you always feel God's amazing love for you!
